If you are attending the Gala, be sure to stop by and say hello to Lucy, who will be representing both Howcroft’s Funeral Services and Embracing Change.

Embracing Change is a local support group created to provide a welcoming and understanding space for people navigating bereavement, loss and life’s many challenges. The group encourages open conversations, connection and support within the community.

Throughout the day, visitors will be invited to take part in two simple but meaningful activities:

Community Wellbeing Board

Share something that has helped you through a difficult time and inspire others who may be facing challenges of their own.

Kindness Jar Challenge

Write down one act of kindness you plan to carry out during the coming week and add it to the jar. Together, these small acts can make a big difference within our community.

There will also be some chocolates, pens and friendly faces waiting to welcome visitors throughout the day.

Supporting the Community We Serve

At Howcroft’s, our role extends beyond arranging funerals. We are proud to support the people, organisations and events that help make our community stronger.

Whether through local sponsorships, fundraising initiatives, educational programmes or support groups such as Embracing Change, we remain committed to giving back to the communities that have supported our family business for more than a century.

We would also like to congratulate the organisers of Skipton Gala for the hard work that goes into planning such a fantastic event each year. Community events like these do not happen without the dedication of volunteers, sponsors and local supporters working together.
