We’re delighted to introduce the newest member of our team — Ben Stringfellow.

Originally from South Manchester, Ben began his career in leisure management before swapping the gym floor for the great outdoors as a Park Ranger. This role not only connected him with nature but also deepened his love of working with people and his local community.

Ben’s path to the funeral profession is a personal one. After experiencing a devastating loss in his own life, he felt a genuine calling to support others through their most difficult times. That experience gave him a deeper understanding of the importance of empathy, care, and connection — qualities that shine through in everything he does today.

Recently, Ben made the big decision to move to Skipton with his wife Beth, who grew up in Embsay, and their dog Cooper. Together, they’ve embraced both a new home and a new chapter, with Ben embarking on his journey towards becoming a Funeral Director.

It takes courage to step away from the familiar, but Ben has already settled in wonderfully at Howcrofts. His calm presence, compassion, and thoughtfulness make us confident he will become a trusted and caring Funeral Director, supporting families with the dignity and respect they deserve.

When he isn’t working, Ben enjoys keeping fit, spending time at the gym, and exploring the Dales on long walks with Beth and Cooper — especially when there’s a cosy pub and a well-earned pint at the end.

We’re so pleased to welcome Ben to the Howcrofts team and look forward to seeing him grow in this important role.
