We are pleased to welcome David Lawson to the Howcrofts team.

David has a long-standing connection to our company, with family ties that span generations. His great-grandfather, William Lawson, was a cabinet maker and funeral director whose business was based on Water Street. The business was later passed down to his sons, James, Jack, and Arthur, who knew Tom, Jack, and Geoffrey Howcroft, and the two families often supported one another in their work.

Although David was still a young boy when his own family firm ceased trading, the values and traditions of the profession have remained with him ever since.

Inspired by his great-grandfather, David chose to follow in his footsteps and enter the funeral profession. He began working as a funeral director at just 17 years old and has since gained extensive experience across several funeral homes. Today, he is a fully qualified funeral director and embalmer.

Although David once established his own business, he later made the decision to step away and join our team. For him, this feels like a natural and meaningful step, reflecting the enduring connection between his family and ours.

David is based in Skipton but, alongside the Howcrofts team, is proud to serve families across the surrounding areas.

David shares, “I’m so pleased to join such a respected, long-established family business. It’s a truly warm and welcoming team, and I’m proud to be part of it.

David would like to reassure all families that, although he has joined the Howcrofts team, his commitment to you remains exactly the same. You will continue to receive the same care, support, and familiar service you have always known. By contacting Howcrofts, David will be there for you.

Any existing funeral plans remain fully secure and will continue as intended, now managed through Howcrofts for your convenience and peace of mind.
